On 9th May, 2026, as part of his Official Visit to Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, joined the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, for the launch of the Brechin Castle Agro-Processing Facility operated by the National Agricultural Marketing and Development Corporation (NAMDEVCO) in Brechin Castle, Couva. The ceremony included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, ribbon cutting, and a tour of the facility, where attendees observed demonstrations of the plant’s modern agro-processing equipment designed to support value-added agricultural production.

The Fatima College team won the award for Best Team Collaboration, with Kennedy Valley emerging as the Grand Final Best Debater, the Overall Best Debater, and the winner of the Director’s Award for Best Engagement with Reparations Theory. He also won the award for Most Outstanding Male Debater, for which all three members were nominated. Her Excellency Deborah Thomas-Felix, High Commissioner for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to Jamaica, delivered greetings on behalf of the Government and people of Trinidad and Tobago at the competition.

Trinidad and Tobago national Mr. Calvin Archibald attended the Plume d’Or Award Ceremony at the French Senate in Paris on 23rd March 2026, after winning the 2025 Plume d’Or French Language Competition. The annual competition, organised by Défense de la Langue Française, is open to students of the Alliance Française network worldwide. As the winner, Mr. Archibald was awarded a one-week stay in Paris and was honoured during the ceremony at the French Senate. During the event, congratulatory remarks were delivered by Trinidad and Tobago’s Honorary Consul in Paris, Mr. Alain Majani d’Inguimbert.
Ms. Sunita Harrikissoon, Director, Treaties, International Agreements and Legal Division, Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs and Mr. Ryan Awai, Assistant Chief Parliamentary Counsel, Office of the Attorney General represented Trinidad and Tobago at the Regional Conference on Advancing CWC Implementing Legislation, in Asunción, Paraguay, from 25 to 27 March 2026. The Regional Conference aimed to support Latin American and Caribbean (GRULAC) States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention in advancing their national implementing legislation for the Convention.
